City needs volunteers
for home water sampling
The City of Canadian is
looking for 20 volunteers to
help in the state-mandated
lead and copper sampling of
the city’s drinking water. The dent of the City Water Depart-
volunteers must be receiving
city water at their homes.
The requirements are that
the water not be treated with
water softeners or filters; must
be first-draw water (must be
the first water drawn in the
morning); should be collected
from the cold water tap in the
kitchen or bathroom; needs to
be from homes built after 1982
with plumbing of copper with
lead solder joints, or a house
built before 1983 with copper
pipe and lead solder joints.
The City will provide the
quart containers and will
deliver them and pick them up
the next morning.
