Dell City with his lovely wife. They had been going up and
down the highway from Carlsbad to El Paso, and decided to see
what the sign saying "Dell City" led to. We hope you liked our
little valley and will come again soon for another visit.

Our condolences and deep sympathy to the Bob Hensley fami-
lies. Pamela (Mrs. Wayne Hensley) was killed in an auto acci-

law of Bob and Hildegard.

We are sorry to learn that Fay Foreman is hospitalized at Vista
Hills Hospital after suffering a fall and a cracked pelvis. Our
thoughts and prayers are with Fay and for a quick recovery.
Daughter Kay Karr and son, Olen Foreman have been with her.
Art Gonzalez and Jack Wendt (Civil Air Patrol) flew to Lubbock
Saturday (25th) for an Evaluation of Search and Rescue sponsored
by the Air Force. There were 75 planes participating and 300
people attending. Art and Jack passed with flying colors.
The August 24-25-26 Lynch family reunion was a big success,
with some 30 members together for the three days on the CL
Ranch. Just about all returned to their destinations on Sunday
and Monday. Anne Lynch Hansen and two children, Marie and
Kenneth, and Kevin, Nadine and Leslie are still here this week
for a longer visit. Anne’s husband, Chris, left on a business trip
to Mexico on Monday. Kevin and family will be in the states a
few weeks before returning to France. Kathleen and Gerry
Murphy from San Marino, California, and Jimmy Barron of
San Francisco are visiting on the ranch a little longer also.
Everyone had a wonderful visit together.
***
Deb & Kristen Clapp just returned from a week’s trip back to
Ohio visiting family and friends. Everyone enjoyed seeing
Kristen again and want her back again real soon.

FARMING
Headquarters
IN VISITING at the
school this week, and talking
with teachers, administrators
and aides, it isn’t difficult to
get the feeling that there is
excitement and challenge in
and with the new educational
at the Campfire Cafe on Saturday, September 15. ~ changes this enthusiasm
*** will no doubt be catching ...
R. T. Wright of 1701 Westridge in Carlsbad stopped briefly in Dell was told, too, that the new
— — — ... . ~ -- ro. ... . , educational program is not with-
out a few wrinkles, but the
good points far outweigh the
not-so-desirable ones... initial
enrollment is good at the Dell
City school, and will probably
increase, as it usually does
during the first few weeks of
a new semester.... Good luck
to all of them for a better-
than-ever school year!
Tomorrow, Saturday,
is the 1st day of September!!!
Fair dates are September 28-
29-30! there are so many
capable and talented people
in our county and region.....
all are urged to participate
and enter their talents in the
different fair categories
it’s the time of year for prov-
ing what can be done and is
being done in Dell Valley
and our county special
invitations to Sierra Blanca
area, Fort Hancock Area, Van
Hom area - around and beyond
all these places - to enter
things in the county fair and
attend usually there are
entries from El Paso - let’s get
the word out NOW we
1 hope that Desert Haven, Sham-
rock Inn, Hueco Inn, Comu-
das, Desert Inn, Salt Flat; etc.,
will all be represented through-
out the Fair! already the
Park Service plans to participate
in the Parade as well as have
a booth - we're glad!
and the very active Otero
CowBelles, they always have
a good booth with lots of ac-
tivity, and always a unique
and beautiful float for the par-
ade. .. September 9 has been
designated as "Grandparents
Day" in Texas by Governor
Mark White..... Gov. White
says, "If you do not have a
grandparent, Sept. 9 would
be a great day to adopt an
isolated senior citizen in your
neighborhood, or at your nearest
nursing home, if even for a few
precious hours. " a very
good thought.... Monday is
LABOR DAY have a safe
and happy day!
