In the last few years, a great
deal has been said and written
about assertiveness training on
television and in paperback
books. Some of this has been
thoughtful and good. Some has
been been a pretty trashy at-
tempt to cash in on public in-
terest.
Mrs. Emily Burrows, 81, of
411 Airport Road, died Tuesday
at 8:20 a.m. in Hopkins County
Memorial Hospital.

He was a retired farmer and a
member of the Baptist Church.
He is also survived by a son,
Billy Wright of Brashear; a
daughter, Nadine Higgin-
botham of Greenville; two
grandchildren; and a great-
grandchild.

Funeral services for Clyde
Evans, 74, of Dallas, formerly
of Cumby, are set for 11 a.m.
Thursday in Meneeley
Memorial Presbyterian
Church. Burial will be in Sunny
Point Cemetery near Cumby.
Mr. Evans died Monday at 5
a.m. in a Dallas hospital.
He was a longtime resident of
both Dallas and Cumby, was a
retired school employee and
was of Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include his wife,
Ella Evans of Dallas; two
brothers, Oscar Lee Evans of
Bryan and Miles Evans of
Quitman; two sisters, Margie
Wilmoth of Longview ami
Lucille Taylor of Bryan; and
several grandchildren.
