Heart Association's annual
Turkeywalk event will be held at
Northway Park on November 19.
Registration begins at 8 a.m.
The walkers hope to raise money
for the fight against premature
death and disability from heart dis-
I ease.
The AHA anticipates a number
of walkers will participate in the
event which covers numerous laps
of the Northway Park trail, a
beautiful and scenic park. Par-
, ticipants recruit sponsors prior to
the event who make pledges based
on the number of miles the par-
ticipant completes during the
event.
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
$O-a “Hero of the Day” certificate;
$5-$10-a AHA pencil and certifi-
cate; $4O-$75-a Turkeywalk t-shirt
& all of the above; $80-$100-a bar-
rel bag and all of the above; $125
plus-a Turkey gift certificate and all
of the above.

Post 4820, Port Neches and many other area veterans organiza-
tions, have undertaken a community project to construct a Got- * ■
den Triangle Veteran s Memorial Park. This park is to be
constructed on property being donated by Butch Bean and Hal
Bean. The park will honor all veterans of World War I, World War
II, Korea, Vietnam and MIAs The property is located near the I
Port Arthur Arthur side of the new Rainbow Bridge on Highway I
I 87. |
This memorial is one that pays tribute to not only our deceased |
brothers and sisters, but also those who are still living
| Our invitation to you is to participate and benefit from this com- |
| munity project. The costs of construction and maintenance will |
| be paid from 100% donations
| You can benefit from this project by having your name, a rela-
| tive or friend's name on one or more of our memorial wall. A
| veteran’s name can appear on a war wall where qualified. To
| qualify, a veteran must have been born in the Golden Triangle,
enlisted in the Golden Triangle, or residing in the Golden Triangle
or had been residing in the Golden Triangle at the time of death.
You can participate by filling out the form below and sending a
donation of $10 or more per name/wall to help cover the cost of

will be used for the project and memorial maintenance
