Wind Readies Telocity of
75 Miles an Hour and.
Does Damage.
Anthony X. M April 1. Tester-
cay's wind storm was for about an
hour the most severe that has been
felt here for many years. At its height
it Is thought to have exceeded 76
miles an hour.
At 2 Mi0 a section of the -west -wall
of K. E Bowden's new $500 stor-
age barn was blown over followed
tie next second by about 75 feet of the
ast wall and in a few minutes about
30 feet more of the west wall went
down with a crash. The loss to Mr.
Bowden Is hard to estimate. Where
the east wall fell into the Camlno
Real the tiles were badly smashed
and ruined. Part of the tile of the
west wall is usable and Mr. Bowden
has a force at work this moraine
clearing up the wreck preparatory to
rebuilding;
No other damage was done by the
wind as far as can be ascertained by
'phoning over the valley but the -lines
are badly tangled and information la
not readily obtainable.
'A party of El Paso county offi-
cials were up here looking over the
road situation west of the town. After
looking the ground over thoroughly.
It was decided that if the necessary
grading was done by Interested par-
ties here the county would surface
the road as far west as the state line
a distance of about three quarters of
a mile. A sugstantial bridge will be
put in over the water course directly
west of Anthony. County judge Ey-
lar Mr. Clifford and surveyor Eti-
bank -were in the party.
