cSs RHEUMATISM
Thousands of persons have been rescued from the tortures of Rheumatism
and restored to perfect health by the use of S. S. S. So uniform are the
.good results from its use that we do not hesitate to say S. S. S. always con-
quers Rheumatism if given a fair trial. You can never cure this deep-
seated disease with external treatment such as liniments plasters blis-
ters etc These may furnish temporary relief but they do not reach the
blood where the real cause is located. Rheumatism is rooted and grounded.
in the blood and must be driven from its stronghold
there before permanent relief can be had. S. S. S.
conquers Rheumatism by driving from the circula-
tion the excess accumulation of uric acid which is
responsible for the disease. S. S. S. strengthens
and invigorates the blood so that instead of a weak
sour fluid causing pain and agony throughout the
system it becomes a nourishing stream furnishing
health to every portion of the body and relieving
every symptom of Rheumatism. If you do not con-
quer Rheumatism it will conquer you. S. S. S. is the
one remedy you can depend upon for good effects. Book on Rheumatism

Constantinople Turkey. Oct. 36
Stories of desperate hand to hand
fighting between the Bulgarian and
Turkish troops are received In special
dispatches.
Bayonets were used rreeiy In the fight
for the possession of the banks of the
Tundja river and hundreds were
killed or wounded.
Eight battalions of Bulgarian "roops
that attacked the village of Maras yes-
terday were repulsed with heavy losses.
The Turks have 150.000 of their finest
troops on the line from Xirk-Kilisseh
to Adrianople wnich latter city is gar-
risoned by 60000 men. Still another
60000 men guard the line from Adrian-
ople back to Lule Burgas.
Abdullah Pasha the commanderin-
chief of the Turkish forces some time
at?o declared that the troops at his
disposal were sufficient and since then
the great stream of troops has been
directed toward SalonlkL
Communication with Adrianople is
still working normally and no serious
attack on the defences of that town is
reported by the Turkish commander.
Fugitives from Kirk-Kllisseh most
of them Christians are being brought
to Constantinople by train.
ADRIANOPIJ3HAS
STRONG DEFENCE
London England. Oct. 25 The cap-
ture of Adrianople by the Bulgarians
in the opinion of military experts will
be a difficult task. Its forts are thor
oughly up to date and are connected by
an underground motor railway line.
Tne Bulgarians captured many guns
much ammunition and food ' at Kirk-
Kllisseh but particulars as to the num-
ber of prisoners of war have not yet
been given out.
Even after the fire of the Bulgarians
finally overcome the fortress fierce
fighting took place in the streets of
town into which the Bulgarians ef-
fected their entrance from the lower
part. The battle was waged from street
to street and every foot of the ground
was contested.
The Turks on tueir part declare that
the evacuation of Kirk-Killisseh was a
"strategic retirement" a phrase which
became familiar during the Russian re-
treat in Manchuria.
A Turkish army of 22000 men. com-
manded by Riza Bey is faced with the
alternative of unconditional surrender
or useless slaughter near the town of
Servla. according to special dispatch
from Athens. The Turkish troops are
hedged in on the east by high cliffs and
on the west by the torrents of the river
Aliakmen the fords of which are held
by Greek hlghlanders. On the south
and southwest too there is a. Greek
army flushed with victory.
After their defeat on Wednesday the
Turks threw away their rifles great
coats and everything likely to impede
their flight Riza Bey and his officers
vainly tried to ratiy their troops and
save the artillery.
desperate attack on the town but en-
countering an annihilating fire from
the Turkish artillery the attackers
were compelled to retire to their for-
mer positions.
The Montenegrins immediately began
preparations for a renewal of the at-
tack which under cover of artillery
fire was to be made on the city from
three sides.
At Tarakosch the Montenegrins occu-
pied the highest point of the neighbor-
ing mountain and Gen. Martinovitch
called upon the Turks to surrender and
prevent their useless bloodshed. The
occupation of the towns was affected
after a bombardment of the fortress.
