In making arrangements for
the debate, Mr. Arishma asked
whether the church of Christ
had a creed or manual in addi-
tion to the Bible like the Cath-
olics and Methodists in which
he could read our particular be-
liefs. When told that we accept-
ed only the BHrie, he exetahn-
ed, "Then this debate will be
especially interesting and sig-
nificant as it will be pure Bud-
dhism against pure Christian-
ity-
Joe Cannon was chosen to rep-
resent the truth because he is
perhaps the best qualified at this
time of any of the preachers over
here. Joe has made an intensive
study of Buddhism and has con-
ducted series of meetings on this
one subject. His efforts have been
so successful in this field that

For Men By April 1st
The J. E. and L. E. Mabee
Foundation, Inc., of Tulsa, Okla.,
will build a men’s dormitory for
Abilene Christian College at an
estimated cost of between $650,-
000 and $700,000. ■
B. Sherrod, president of the
ACC board of trustees from Lub-
bock, made the announcement at
the college's morning chapel pe-
riod March 7 after returning
from Washington, D.C., where he
