DECATUR, Ga. — In the “Spirit of 76," the Decatur
Church of Christ, 1677 Scott Boulevard, recently
launched a 10-year expansion program. . - »•
A two-day planning retreat was held at Stone Moun-
tain Park early this year. As the result of this, the Deca-
tur church elders have an-
nounced the following long-
range goals for the decade
of 1966-76.
1) A membership of 1,600 by
1976. The present congregation
of approximately 300 members
is anticipated to increase in pop-
ulation five-fold during the
next 10 years, due to emphasis
on personal evangelism.
Attendance
2) A regular Sunday school at-
tendance of 1,600. Emphasis is
------- put on “the best trained,
dedicated teacher with the
best equipment possible."
Through this effort numerous
youngsters and adults should be
enrolled in a serious study of
the word of God.
3) The establishment of six
indent children.

the earth with the gospel.
Every County
5) Participation in the estab-
lishment of a congregation in
every county in Georgia by 1976.
A number of congregations are
concerned about establishing
the church in those counties
where no congregation now ex-
ists. Every effort will be made
to participate in this work.
6) The establishment of Bible
Chairs in the major colleges of
greater Atlanta. Atlanta Is the
home of a number of colleges
and universities. It is hoped that
a successful operation of a Bible
Chair can be established in each
of the major institutions of high-
