Scars from Burns
When burns or scalds are
healing, it is a good plan to rub
the new skin several times a
day with good sweet oil. to pre-
vent scars. Persist until the new
skin is soft and flexible.
Cherry Relish
To make cherry relish
four cups seeded cherries,
cup raisins, three cups sugar,
one-fourth teaspoon cinnamon,
one-fourth teaspoon cloves, two
tablespoons lemon juice. Mix
these ingredients and boil twen-
ty minutes. Stir frequently.
Heating the Oven
After lighting the gas burners
of the oven, wait for about two
minutes and then open the oven
door for a second. This permits
the moist air to escape and the
oven consequently will heat far
more quickly after the ventila-
tion.
