that she is quite-ill at her home in Mc-
Kinney. Mr. and Mrs. Parvin lived on
their farm here for many years, but
sold it a few years ago and moved to
McKinney.
Misses Bain and Maud Webb of AIc-
Kiney have had their rent house on
their farm re-roofed.
Air. and Mrs. J. AV. Wilmeth, Mrs.
C. N. Webb and Cecillian Webb spent
last week-end in Houston attending
their grandson and nephew, Jimmy
Wilmeth, who underwent an opera-
| tion for appendicitis. Mrs. Webb re-
I raained for a longer stay. Last re-
pons the patient is doing fine.
Kenneth Welborn is being expected
home from the Navy any day. He is

years, received his discharge at Nor-
man, Okla., and is enjoying civilian

Gene Curtis, U. S. Navy at Norman,
was a week-end guest of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Curtis.
Mr. and Mrs. Leyton Stewart, Mrs.
Alice Gallaher, Miss Willie Earl Gal-
laher and Jack Gallaher of Dallas vi-
sited Mr. and Mrs. L. Goeman Sunday
evening.
The Euzelian Class met Tuesday in
the home of Mrs. H. O. Williams. The
program, led by Mrs. Earl Story, was
on Texas Independence and roll call
was answered with Texas Heroes.

R. Hilger . They are making their

moved in McKinney last Wednesday.

Mrs. Claud Curtsinger were in Fort
Worth Friday attending the Fat Stock
Show.
Kenneth Jack Hill, the 12 year-old
son of Air. and Mrs. L. B. Hill is crit-
ically ill in the McKinney City Hos-
pital.
Mr. and Mrs. John Clark and daugh-
ters, blisses Myra and Beth and Miss
Glenda Graham, of Denton, were Sun-
day guests of Mrs. AV. H. Clark and
Mr. and Mrs. William Clark.
The ladies of the Baptist church
held their annual week of prayer serv-
ice at the home of Mrs. Leroy Hill
last Thursday. A covered dish lunch-
eon was served to a large group at
noon.
The World Day of Prayer was ob-
served in an all-day meeting at the
Methodist Church Friday. The leader,
Mrs. Leslie Carroll, from the Baptist
Church, was -assisted by Mrs. Francis
Malone from the Christian Church
and Mrs. Will Al. Smith from the
Methodist Church. The offering was
$20. Leader for next year will be Mrs.
Roy Northcutt.
Mr. and Mrs .Charles Montgomery
and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Burton of
Dallas were week-end guests of their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Mont-
gomery.

was recently seriously ill but at pres-
ent seems slightly improved.
At the Community Club Thursday
night the moving picture projector
was demonstrated. It will be used by
the Boy Scouts and also by the Girl
Scouts. It is expected the machine
will be used in the school and the
various churchs also.
Mrs. Verna Cantrel went to Fort
Wprth this week to visit her son-in-
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. A.
Thomason.
Mrs. Sarah Brown went to Bonham
Tuesday to represent the W. S. C. S.
of the Methodist Church at the An-
nual North Texas Conference.
Air. and Mrs. Hetzel Derryberry

turned from 14 months overseas, vis-
