The group was Impressed with
the fact that If one can't be an
actively working member she
can pay dues which become the
tools with which the workers
carry on the state projects. At
present there are two: the his-
torical publication fund and the
fund with which to • build a
greatly needed wing to the Ala-
mo Museum.
Zuber Hadley, one of tewenty-
six chapters Of the slate, is a pa-
triotic group whose purpose is
to record correctly the events in
the history of Texas. It was or- ,
ganized in Anderson under thei \
sponsorship of Mrs. Lizzie Neb-
lett, on April 16, 1910, with ten
charter members. It has since
maintained an active member-
ship equal to its original- num-
ber, and has had a tqtal of thir-
ty since its birth. It was named
for two pioneer Grimes county
citizens, W. P. Zuber and Joshua
Hadley, one a historian, the oth-. '
er a statesman.
As the passing years have

are being invited to attend the
Brenham convention. There are
some 85 VFW posts in the 39
counties of the four districts.
The Brenham meeting will be-
gin at 10-a.m/with a VFW rally
in the Brenham city hall audi-
torium at which the junior vice
commander - in • chief, a Platts-
burgh; N. Y., attorney, will be
the principal speaker. Depart-
ment Commander Evans also
Will speak that morning. <
Lewis will deliver another ad-
dress from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m.
over KWHI, Brenham, and will
attend a round table discussion
that wiil feature the afternoon
session of the four-district Tally.
Pat H. Kveton, Department of
Texas Adjutant, will preside at
the afternoon session.

Dickenson, Navasota, junior vice
commander; Eugene Horton,
