Mt. Vernon Superinten-
dent Walter Sears was
honored Tuesday evening at
the 32nd annual Northeast
Texas Future Farmers
convention with the Honor-
ary State Farmer Degree
Sears was awarded the
degree for his interest and
strong support of the area
FFA organization, making
the Mt. Vernon facilities
available for banquets and
programs for the past four
years.
Approximately one thou-
sand Future Farmers, par-
ents and teachers attended
the convention which inclu-
ded the selection of area
president and the coronation
of the Northeast Texas
Future Farmer Sweetheart.
