For Study Of "Bolivia" At Forum

The 20th Century Study Club

nesday at the Woman's Forum,
continuing their study on South
American countries with the top-
ic for the program, "Bolivia."
Mrs. Charles Sommer, program
chairman brought a vivid descrip-
tion of the South American coun-
try which lies in the middle of the
continent, completely landlocked
as an aftermath of wars in which
Bolivia lost to each of her five
neighboring nations.
The people of Bolivia are de-
scendants of the Inca Indians and
Spaniards who' seem content to re-
main precisely as tliey were in the
days when the Spuniards hammer-
ed them into outward submission.

Members of the Rf bekah Lodge
and friends met again Tuesday for
an all day quilting event in the
home of Sirs. A. L. Dover.
A quilt was quilted, the second
one this month, which will be auc-
tioned off on the March of Dimes
programs during the latter part of
this month over KSTB with all
proceeds going to this campaign.
A covered dish luncheon was en-
joyed by members and friends dur-
ing the noon hour.
Those attending were Mmes. Al-
vada Johnston, Hazle Goldsmith,
Lucille Bell, A. Fry, Mary McKee,
Madaline Evans, Ada Anderson,
Essie Pardee, Stella Howell, Bon-
ita Wells, and the hostess.

In addition Mrs. Cunningham de-
monstrated how to make an unus-
ually attractive but simple book-
shelf using glass bricks and grad-
uated iengtils of white pine.
The next meeting will be Jan-
uary 28th at the club house.

The WSCS of First Methodist
Church will have a Scripture lunch-
eon, January I!)th in the church
undercroft.
Following the luncheon, a study
period, centered toward under-
standing the Bible will be held,
with Mrs. J. S. Rhodes directing.

Holds Open House

bers of the First Baptist Church
"Visitation Day," Mrs. G. B. Maul
din held open house at her home,
708 West Third Street, Tuesday.
The hostess served breakfast for
those who could attend and lunch-
eon frOm twelve until one o'clock.
Members who called during the
afternoon were served tea from the
refreshment table appointed with
lovely antiques, treasures of Mrs.
Mauldin. A lazy susan filled with
decorated cookies, trays of rolled
sandwiches, tied with pink and
blue, the class colors, and beauti-
ful antique tea cups completed the
table arrangements. Mrs. Mauldin
poured.
Approximately twenty-five mem-
bers registered during the day,

with a dinner Wednesday evening
at the Breckenridge Woman's Club.
Following the dinner, the Altar
boys presented Father Baldwin
with three large baskets of linen
from the members, for the Rectory.
For entertainment. Coech Kerbel
showed the film of the Brecken-
ridge-Temple game to a very ap-
preciative crowd. After the show-
ing of the picture, games wore
played and many unique and fun-
making prizes were awarded.
