WASHINGTON, Feb. 2i 1u.R>—
Some Republicans admitted pri-
vately Saturday that they don't
think President Eisenhower's reso-
lution on wartime secret agree-
ment goes fur enough.
Mr. Eisenhower submitted his
draft of the resolution to Con-
gress Friday, calling for repudia#
tion of the interpretation of the
pacts by which Russia enslaved
free peoples.
Democrats generally thought
written because it did not imply
any criticism of former Presidents
Roosevelt and Truman who agreed
to the controversial Yalta and
Potsdam pacts.
Republicans said the resolution
had a sound basis but some grum-
bled because it did not cull for out-
right rejection of the agreements
—something many of them de-
manded during the election cam-
paign. J?-

State ownership forces sought
to get the controversial tideUuids
oil legislation to the Senate floor
for debatfe next week. But Sen.
Guy Cordon R-Ore. said the Sen-

behind schedule und might not get
the bill out that soon. The com-
mittee completed hearings Friday
on two measures to return the off-

AUSTIN, Feb. U «U.Rf—Spesiii
rules for the tiuinduno field in
Roberts county to permk rapid de-
velopment of the area's natural
gas potential were urged Friday
by the Gulf Oil Curp.
Representatives of Gulf proposed
special field rules at a hearing be-
fore the Railroad Commission.
However, spokesmen for Sham-
rock Oil and Gas Co. urged a wait
antf see policy before determining
rules under • whieh the field will
operate. '
Stanley Horrtsby. Austin attorn-
ey representing Gulf, presented
proposed rules for the field, apprx-
imately 12.060 acres in southern
Roberts county.
The proposed rules provide for
spacing of wells 330 feet from the
lease line, 933 feet from the near-
est well on the same lease, und a
maximum of one well per 40-a<hres.
