Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 28.—Regardless of
any plans the Democratic state com-

the present campaign, announcement
was made last evening that William J.
Bryan had engaged at his own expense
a hall in Lincoln at which next Mos-

in the Nebraska canvass. It is said
Mr. Bryan will probably follow this
program in other towns and cities of
the state. Mr. Bryan a month ago
proffered his services to the state
committee for two weeks of speaking,
but the committee has thus far not
arranged for his appearance because,
it is announced unofficially, he had

Divorce Proceedings.
By Associated Press.
Chicago, Oct. 28.—That the next gen-
eration in this city will contain many;
more men than women is forecasted by
the scattering returns from the church
census just taken by the Cook coun-
ty Sunday School association.
The figures are incomplete, but it
was learned yesterday from the re-
ports from several census enumerators
employed that while there are at pres-
ent more adult women than men in
Chicago, there are not nearly so many
girls as boys.
The reports of the census enumeri j
ator in one of the subdivisions of the
third precinct of the twenty-fifth ward,
shows that in that subdivision are 1590;
adult women and 1134 adult males; 123]
young women between the ages of 13;
and 19 years and 188 young men'be-j
tween the same ages, while of the chil- •
dren between the ages of 3 and 12 ■■
only 131 are girls, while 242 are boys.i
Reports from other precincts in oth-'
er parts of the city show the same ten- 1
dency.
