‘•Do you belive there is a devil?”
seven-year-old Johnny Austin asked
his companion in Sunday school.
“Of course I do.”
‘Huh! It’s the same as the storj
about Santa Claus,” said Johnny,
“It's your father.”
A rich man lying on his deathdbed
called his chauffer and said: “Ah,

This is the last edition of the East Texan that will come
out before Christinas. It is the hope of tin- staff that the paper
has performed its function this quarter. If it has. it owe- a
sense <>f gratitude to the various contributors in school that
have enlivened its columns. We express the hope that the stu-
dent- of the college will far* Well in their final exams, that on
going home they will enjoy Christmas to the fullest extent, and
that they will return to school next term wit'll a fresh outlook
for the year's work.

Johnnie’s history class was study-
ing an important period in history
and it was Johnniv’’s turn to recite.
"Johnnie, who was the king at this
time?"
He answered:
eyed.”
“Why. Johnnie, where did you lean,
that?" she asked.
“Right here in the book,'' he an-
swered, and showed her the para-
graph where the name was printed
Louis XI.”
