Mrs. ike Pitluk will have her sis-

with her for the holidays.
The many friends of Mr. Kingham
are glad he is with us for the week
attending county institute.
Mr. John L. Hunter, college secre-
tary of the V M. C. A, work in the
state, will deliver an illustrated lec-
ture on Palestine at the Presbyterian
church at 7:30 p. m., Wednesday night.
This is free and everybody is cordially
invited to come and enjoy it.
Mr. Tom W. Murray of Coleman,
Texas, is in the city visiting nt the
home of Rev. L. E. elfrldge.

The State of Texas,
To the Sheriff or any Constable of
Matagorda County -GHEETING :
You are hereby commanded, that
you summon, by making publication of
this citation in some newspaper pub-
lished In the county of Matagorda, it
there be a newspaper published there-
in, but ft not, then in any newspaper
published in the 23d judicial district;
but if there be no newspaper pub-
lished in said judicial district, then in
a newspaper published In tilt* nearest
district to said 23d judicial district, for
four weeks previous to the return day
hereof, Virginia Holt whose residence
Is unknown, to lie and appear before
the Ho” VM'1''ct Court, at the next
regular tein. .Hereof, to be huldeti in
the county of Matagorda, at the court
house thereof, in Bay City, Texas, oh
the 30th day of December A. 1). 1912,
then and there to answer a petition fil-
ed In said court, on the 23d day of
December, A D. 1912, In a suit num-
bered on the docket of said court No.
3238, wherein Jackson Holt is plain-
tiff and Virginia Holt Is defendant.
The nature of the plaintiff's demand
being as follows, to-wit:
That on or about the 15th day of
Marell, A. D. 1SH8, the plaintiff was
legally and lawfully married to defen-
dant. then a single woman by the name
of Virginia Brown, and that they con-
tinued to live together a husband and
wife until on or about December, 1908,
when (he defendant Virginia Brown
departed from the bed and board of
this plaintiff and abandoned this
plaintiff, and that the said Virginia
Brown thereafter lived in adultery with
a negro man named---Williams,
and has lived away from this plaintiff
for more than three years next before
filing of this suit for divorce, and that
her whereabouts arc unknown and
that by reason of such abandonment
and by the reasons and causes above
set forth, the plaintiff alleges that the
defendant's actions toward him gen-
erally are of such a nature as to ren-
der their living together as husband
mt wife insupportable.
Wherefore, premises
plaintiff prays the court that defen-
dant be cited to appear and answer
tills petition for divorce as the law
directs
Herein fail not. and have you before
said court, on the said first day of
the next term thereof, this writ, with
your endorsement thereon, showing
how you have executed the same.
Given under my hand and seal of
said court, at office in Bay City. Tex-
as. this, the 23d day of November. A
D. 1912.
