Memorial Campaign
The national campaign for
LIVING MEMORIALS is gaining
momentum rf|l over America and
in ■even foreign countries, ac-
cording to a recent report made
by the American Commission for
Living War Memorials. The
commission is a national organi-
sation with regional directors to
encourage the erection, of Living
War Memorials for community
betterment. Nine hundred and
sixty-eight communities have
made plans fpr erecting Living

less steel Zephyrs attained an unprecedented
total in train miles of service—25,000,000!
The Texaa Zephyrs, linking Texas with
Colorado since August, 1940, have con-
tributed nearly i,000,000 miles to this
amazing total. •

times around the world, the Zephyrs have

tic endorsement of speedy, luxurious, stream-

fast trains. (The Pioneer Zephyr, first of the
Zephyr fleet and America’s first diesel-

on its second ten years of seryice.)

proval to the Zephyrs and the kind of travel
they typify. So there will be more of them
in the days ahead. They will be even more

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Edwards
are in recipt of a letter from the
Public RelafTohs office of The'
7th Army, stating that their son,
Tech 5, Loyd Edwards, has pass-
ed his 200 consecutive days of
combat as a member of the crack
veteran 753rd Tank Battalion,
having seen action in Sicily,
Italy and France. It made the
second, invasion on the beaches
of 1‘Blopdy Salerno" as one of
the first American Tank units to
land on the European mainlar^d.
It served at San Pietro and Cas-
sino and was awarded the Croix
de Guerre with Vermillion Star,
the highest honor bestowed by
the French. It was in the lib-
eration of Rome. In Germany
when the German and Panzer
Division threatened to speed for-
ward and‘overrun the Strausburg
defenses; the 7Mrd Division
well attended last Sunday. Those |
