Big Parade To
Be Feature Of
2nd Annual Show
Tonight (Friday) sees the open-
ing of the Second Annual Fire-
man’s Rodeo at Pelham Park,
Bowie, fob a two-day stand with
professional cowboys and rough,
tough rodeo stock furnishing the
thrills and spills.
The show will open with a big
parade this (Friday) afternoon,
led by the Bowie High School
band. This will be a colorful
feature which the public is cor-
dially invited to .see.
Tho stock for the rodeo is fw»~
nished by Bob Estes of Baird,
who has a reputation for putting
on professional shows of the best
type. Truck loads of wild broncs
and Brahma bulls from the Lone
Star Ranch at Baird, arrived
early in the week and will be
in fine condition for the "exhibi-
tion. ■’ '
Professional cowboys, includ-
ing SUch local riders as may be
able to qualify, will vie for the
big cash prizes to be awarded.
Funmaker for the show will be
Alex* Alexander, colored clown
and bullfighter, The show will
begin at 8:30 p.m. on both Fri-
day and Saturday and a fast-
moving performance is promised.
Bud Townsend, the youngest
professional announcer in the
country, will present a colorful
proper regu-1 running account of the show, and
to complete the festivities a
square dance featuring Bob Wills
and bis Texas Playboys on Fri-
day night and Ida Red on Satur-
day night, will be held in the Ad-'
ministration Building at Pelham
Park.
Accompanied by the band, a

interest of the show, stopping at
Henrietta on the way into Okla,-
homa, returning by Nocona. .

Post will have charge of the con-
cessions for the show and will
