Monday Feb. 1.
Chicago III . Feb. 1. Buyers came after

brought about new high record war rices.
The market after opening tie to 2Jc high-

Upwards of 5 cents a bushel had been
added to wheat by noon. May selling then
at $1.57. Traders were keeping a sharp eje
meanwhile on returns as to the United
States visible supply which promised a big
falllni Aff.
The decrease in the visible supply for the
week turned out to be about four times as
large as at the corresponding time a year

thing of a setback In prices near the close

Nervousness prevailed at the close which
was ac to 4fcc above Saturday night

followed by a general further advance.
The close was unsettled We above Satur-
