District Judge W. B. Hopkins this morn-
ing brought a number of the men held in

represented by counsel. In cases where
tin* defendant* did not have counsel the
court asked tor the name- of at least two
men for character witnesses and appointed
representatives ot the local bar to present
application- with the character certificates
asking that counsel be assigned.
