(By The Associated Pros*)
STAMFORD. Texas. Sept. 19.—“The
idler has disappeared in west Texas.”
according to llomer !». Wade of Stmn-
ford assistant maimger of the West
Texaa t'ha'nher of Commerce which last

hands to assist in harvesting the west
Texas cot I on crop
“Weat Texas is no plare for nn idle
person at the present time.” Wade de-
clared. “The drive for workers is cer-
tain to get results and city officials are
lending their aid in sending persons out
of work to the cotton fields rather than
id them remain idle in the towns.”
The ecessit.v of immediately finding
workers to harvest the cotton crop has
resulted from the fact that the cotton
ripened rapidly from the continued dry
and hot weather during August and ear-
ly September Wade said. Kaitis on the
crop would do considerable damage to it
Varment were not fully prepared when
tha 'harvesting season appeared.
TW West Texas t’hainber of Com-

officials to open campaigns to send idle
I>t*ca*ns to the harvest fields. School
officials also were asked to defer open-
inf of the fall school terms so that
Young people could as*i.t in the work
