GREATLY INCREASED

.shipper of that city. Mr. Sprowl and
his associates are financing GOO acres
of onions cabbage and truck. 11 states
that these crops are in splendid condi-
ti< n and that thty will begin “hipping
beds and carrots next week and cab-
bage a little later.
Mr. Sprowl has purchased a large
warehouse at Mission which is being
used as a packing shed for fruits and
vegetables and partly as a public stor-
age room.

FRUT AND VEGETABLE
SHIPMENTS INCREASING
Fiuit and vegetable shipment# from
the Valley are increasing slowly ac-
cording to A. S. Gimble general agent
of the Gulf Coast Lines. According to
Mr. Gimblt 80 cars moved yesterdav
from Valley points to thy north* rn mar
• kets. Three of these cars were grap* -
fruit and the remainder consisted of
beets carrots cabbage and mixed veg-
(e tables.
The movement so far Mr. Gimble
states is well distributed with no one
community shipping the bulk in any one
vegetable except that Mercedes and
Weslaco have thus far shipped the bulk
of carrots and beets.

SAN BENITO Texas. Jan. 10—Jose
Maria Villareal who has r. sided near
Santa Maria for a number of years
and who is w 11 and favorably known in
that community by all the citizens com
mitted suicide at his home date Mon-
day afternoon by placing a revolver at
his temple : s he stood before a mirror
end pull d the trigger.
He was between 05 and 70 years of
age and it seems he had just be n to
see a man who owed him som* money
on the sale of a piece of prop*rty and
for some reason refused settlement
According to his neighbors there coulo
• have been no other reason for his rash
