WASHINGTON D. C. March 14.—
Csftton consumed during February
•mounted to 550132 bales of lint and
50508 of linters compared with 589725
of lint and 51800 of linters in January
this year and 508677 of lint and 41683
of linters in February last year the
census bureau announced today.
.Cotton on hand February 28 was held
as follows:
In consuming establishments 1456210
bales of lint and 149292 of linters com-
pared with 1433814 of lint and 137634
of linter January 31 this year and 1-
583434 °f lint and 123186 of linters
February 28 last year.
In public storage and at compresses
307j140 bales of lint and 69661 of lint-
ers compared with 3863475 of lint and
6820 of linters January 31 this year
and 2497075 of lint and 86983 of lint-
ers February 28 last year.
Imports during February totalled 59.
984 bales compared with 54822 in Janu-
ary this year and 48602 in February
last year.
Exports during February totalled 811-
838 bales including 19800 bales of lint-
ers compared with 1076075 including
24214 of linters in January this year
and 482146 including 12275 of linters
in February last year.
Cotton spindles active during Feb-
ruary numbered 33277189 compared
with 33180758 in January this year and

Matamoros Recreation
Club to Hold Shoot
Members of El Centro Recreativo the
recreation club of Matamoros will meet
•t the residence of Alfred A. Laurents
manager of the Brownsville Ferry Com-
pany Sunday afternoon where they will
take automobiles for the Rancho Buena
Vista.
Upon reaching the ranch they will
enjoy a picnic dinner after which they
will hold their regular target shooting
pcntest for the award of the gold medals
which are given the man and woman
making the best score.
At the present time the holders of the
medals arej Hidalgo Guerra men’s cham-
uionship and Miss Margarita Guerra
champion of the women’s shooting
event. It is expected that there will be
some excellent scores made Sunday ac-
cording to Mr. Laurents as the club
numbers some excellent shots among its
members.
Bulgaria Ranks Well .
In Modern Sanitation
SOFIA March 14.—A representative
of the Rockefeller Foundation in
Europe Dr. Selskar Michael Gunn be-
fore his departure from Sofia after his
visit of inspection of sanitation in Bui-'
garia arranged for the sending of six ;
local physicians for a year’s course of
study and practice in American hos-
pitals. These doctors are to be se-
lected by competitive examination and
will leave next September.
Dr. Gunn pronounced himself highly
pleaded with the arrangements for san-
itation in Bulgaria which he pronounced
superior to the achievements along the
same lines in several European coun-
tries.
FORESTS SAFEGUARDED
PLOVDIV Bulgaria March 14.—Ef-
fective use of conscript labor is being
made by the Bulgarian government in
reforestation. The program for this
year covers virtually the entire coun-
try and includes the Balkan mountains!
in Gulgarian territory.
MEET ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY
The former pupils of the Incarnate
Word Academy are cordially requested

Brownsville high school boys debating
team won a decision over the San
Benito boys’ team yesterday afternoon
by a judges’ vote of 2 to 1. The ques- [
tion debated was the freedom of the I
Philippines and the contest was a pre-
liminary to the coming Interscholastic
league meets. The boys won a unani-
mous decision from Ldinburg last week.
The Brownsville girls’ team composed
of Inda Benway and Francis Hoffheinz.

est. costs of sale and costs of suit un-
der a Judgment and Decree in favor of
N. tCraig Plaintiff in a certain cause in
said Court No. 5690 and styled N.
Craig vs. G. W. Dudley et ux. and
placed in my hands for service. I Sam
A. Robertson as Sheriff of Cameron
County. Texas did on the 4th day ol
March 1925 levy on certan Real Es-
tate. situated in Cameron County Tex-
as described as follows to-wit:—Being
a part of the grant in the name of E.
and B. Fernandez known as Concep-
cion de Carricitos described by mete*
and bounds as follows:
1st: Twenty (20) acres of land more
or less being lots Nos. 11 and 14 in
Block 39 or the south half of the North-
west quarter of Block 39 a part of
Landrum’s sub-division No. 3 as shown
by maps and plats duly of record in the
office of the County Clerk of Cameron
County. Texas and being the same pro-
perty and premises conveyed by Peden
Iron & Steel Company to Y. Hernan-
dez by deed of date October 10th. 1917.
recorded in Vol. “57” at pages 234-236
of the Deed Records of Cameron Coun-
ty Texas.
