Many More Connections
For Water Than Orders
To Discontinue. j
"Business conditions are improvingj
In 763 Paso." said H. P. Jackson "I
can always tell by the manner in
which water connections are ordered
made or discontinued. During the
past few days the orders for new ser-
vice have far outnumbered the orders
to discontinue service. Day before
yesterday for Instance we had 30
more orders for service than we had
for discontinuations of service. It
has been on the Increase for some
time past now.
"We are pumping only about 4.500-
000 gallons of water a day to supply
BI Paso now. while our capacity Is
about 10.5M.eeo a day. but the In-
crease In the use of water is going
to Jump up rapidly with the approach
of spring and the gardening and lawn
season.
"Inside of SO days 60 at the out-
side we will be able to supply 15.-
000.000 gallons of water dally to the
people o( El Paso. This is far more
water than has ever been required
here even when the national guard
was here in 1916."

Classic Beauty.
HAVE I told before the story of a
girl I knew a rather poor weak
awkward sort of child who developed
herself so marvellously by class! o
dancing? It happened that she in-
herited some money and Instead of
having to work she had a chance to
devote all her time to beautify her
mind and her body. She went to a
teacher of classic dancing and took
a year to develop herself. Most of
her time she was outdoors; she
learned swimming deep breathing
gymnastio exercises; she learned to
exercise to music a wonderful way
of acquiring rhythm and finally she
I learned the graceful dances we be
lieve the Greeks knew. Of course she
did not become a classic dancer In a
year she didn't intend to. What she
did learn was "co-ordination"; she be-
came acquainted with her muscles and
learned to use them she grew grace-
ful of line and of movement.
All of us cannot have her oppor-
tunity. But we can all learn to dance
no one any more objects to this
harmless and beneficial exercise and
any sore of dancing develops grace.
Classis dancing is a fad nowadays
fortunately. The schools are teachm-
It. outdoor playgrounds for child rc-r
teach It and the pretty European fol
dances and the youngsters develop
splendidly under the training. Gyrr-
naslums and girls clubs of our youn-z
folk have a chance to study it.
