Early warning of
quake activity is
planned in Israel
SEFAD, (ZINS) - Israel’s
national institute of seismology is
to set up tremor-registering equip-
ment at Sefad, Galilee, and else-
where in the north of the country
to give early warning of earth-
quake activity that is expected
there early in the new year, the
daily Ha’aretz reported. Israel is
situated on a geological fault run-
ning from the Dead Sea and the
Lake of Tiberias.

Kaufman, Stuart Prescott and
Arthur Katz, III.
The bride’s unde, Irvin Wadler,
played a selection of violin solos
for the wedding. He was accom-
panied in one by his grandson,
Stephan Newman. Mrs. George
Wagner accompanied at the piano.
For her daughter’s wedding,
Mrs. Lerman chose a designer
gown of lavender beaded chiffon.
Mrs. Singer, for her son’s wedding,
chose a lavender chantilly lace
designer gown. Both mothers
carried lavender orchids.
The bride attended The Univer-
sity of Texas at Austin and is now
teaching with the Fort Bend In-
dependent School District. The
groom also attended The Univer-
sity of Texas at Austin. He is the
Executive Vice President of The
Shoe Rack, Inc., in Houston.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii,
the couple are making their home
in Houston.
The ballroom of the Galleria
Plaza Hotel provided the setting
for the marriage of Paula Fran
Lerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Sol Lerman of Wharton, and
Kenneth Allan Singer, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Julius L. Singer of Hous-
ton, on Saturday evening, Oct. 18,
1980. Rabbi Jack Segal, Rabbi
Ted Sanders and Cantor George
Wagner officiated at the candle-
light ceremony which was fol-
lowed by a reception and dinner-
dance in the Grand Ballroom of
the hotel.
For her wedding, the bride se-
lected a designer gown by Ron
LoVece, fashioned of ivory satin
and white Alencon lace bodice
and sleeves. The elegant gown fea-
tured a sculptured portrait neck-
line which was enhanced by tiny
satin rosebuds tucked into the
lace. From the natural waistline'
the skirt was deeply pleated at the
front and back. The slipper length
skirt of the gown swept to form a
chapel length train. To comple-
ment the gown, the bride chose a
full length veil of ivory illusion on
a matching Alencon lace Juliet
cap, also tucked with the tiny
satin rosebuds. The bride carried a
traditional bouquet of white roses,
orchids and stephanotis.
