1.             This will acknowledge the generous offer of your s services
in connection with the maritime strike.
2.             In view of the fact that the urgent situation occasioned
by this potential difficulty has been obviated JW the settlement of 14 June
1946, it will not be necessary to ask you to perform any duties at this
time.
3.             The Navy Department wishes to express its sincere appreciation
of the loyalty and interest in your country's welfare evidenced by your
timely action in this matter.
