So earth is tinged with green;
To which are added pastel shades
As flowers start to bloom,

This fragrant air will soon abound

Accompanied by lovely sound
As birds traverse the shies.

Now that we are coming into
warmer weather, we've had a full
week of the Medical Experts telling
us how dangerous exposure to the
sun is. Skin cancers have increased
double in the last decade and they
are warning that sunburn, expe-
cially for the young up to 20 years
old, which 20-30 years from now
will increase to one in 80 persons
developing cancer, many of them
Melanoma, which is usually fatal.
Many fair-skinned persons, they
say, are 25 times more likely than
others. Nobody, so they say, should
go into direct sunlight for more than
a few minutes without protection
and sunscreen. It's pretty scary for
most everybody in these parts who
has spent a lifetime in the sun!
I didn't i ntend to get off on some-

THE
UBSEEG
ADVANTAGE:
by Gene Russell
Pastor: Assembly of God Church
As aminister I have often prayed,
Lord give me something this week
that will astound people, that will
have everyone sit up and take no-
tice. It seems always when I pray
this prayer, the Lord speaks to my
heart again (Preach Christ).
Acts 8: 4, 5: Therefore they that
were scattered abroad went every-
where preaching the Word. Then
Philip went down to the City of
Samaria and preached Christ unto
them.
1. We preach Christ (by our
words). Seems like sometimes we
do more talking about everything
else than about Christ. We need to
tell people about Jesus, about how
wonderful he is and what he's done
for us.
2. We preach Christ (by our ac-
tions). No matter how much we tell
people about Jesus, it has little ef-
fect until we live like Jesus.
Romans 12:12 tells us that we
are to present our bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
be not conformed to this world but
be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind. II Corinthians 5:17:
Therefore, if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature. Old things are
passed away, all things are become
new.
3. We need to preach Christ (by
forgiving) Mark 11:25 When you
stand praying, forgive if you have
aught against any, that your Fa-
ther in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses. Ephesians 4:32. Colos-
sians 3:13 also tells us to forgive one
another, even as God for Christ's
sake has forgiven you. Also the
account in Matthew 18: 21-35 tells
us what will happen to us, if we
forgive not from our hearts, every-
one his trespasses.
Many people have told me,
"Brother Russell we can't live like
this," yet I read in the Bible of a
man, appointed to be a deacon,
Steven, a man full of faith and the
Holy Ghost. Acts 7:20 tells us, Ste-
ven spoke almost the same words as
the Lord, when he was being stoned
to death. "Lord, lay not this sin to
their charge."
