The next election to be held in
Angelina county will fall on the
first Saturday in next month.
This time the people will be call-
ed upon to choose three county
school trustees, The News has
just printed the tickets and the
following names appear on the
ballot: “Commissioners’ pre-
cinct No 1, O. O. Wunsch. Luf-

would have been patronizing a
home store, which helps pay the
taxes and builds up this locality.”

It is reported that the little
town of Broaddus is soon to have
a bank, though the News has
not learned of the promoters.
Broaddus is situated on the lower
end of the Cotton Belt out of
Lufkin, and is across the line in
San Augustine county. It is a
very fertile section of country
and is being populated right
along with thrifty people.
We ask our exchanges to kindly
mention the 50th anniversary of
the Battle of Mansfield, which is
to be held at Mansfield, La., on
April 8th. There are many old
veterans over the state who par-
ticipated in this battle who no
doubt would like to attend.
Kindly make notice to write Dr.
S. L. Wharton at Mansfield, La.,
for information.—Polk County
Enterprise.
