Bob Montgomery was
released from Collin Mem-
orial Hospital on Wednes-
day and though Bob ap-
peared to be rather weak
after his 10-day ordeal with
Mononucleosis and Viral
Meningitis, he was very
glad to be back in Allen.
Says he has to take it easy
for awhile but then he’ll be
good as new.

Dan Posey, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ken Posey, was
among the graduates at
Texas A&M on Saturday.
Speaker to the more than
2000 graduates was Vice
President Gerald Ford. Sue
Posey told me on Friday
morning that the family
was planning to be there on
Friday night and that she
was taking food for the
evening meal to all the
students from Allen. Al-
though she was her usual
calm and collected self I
could detect an under-
current of excitement in her
manner, which is as it
should be. Graduation from
a university is a great
honor, not only for the

Mrs. Mary Cortez of
Lucedale, Mississippi has
been visiting relatives in
Allen for the past three or
four weeks. Mrs. Cortez is
the wife of Al Cortez and

Allen is a lovely and
friendly city.

graduate, but for the
parents as well. We wish
Dan well in his endeavors
as he takes another step on
the road of life.
Contrary to complaining
we hear from some pat-
ients, Bob said he received
excellent care from the
nurses on the floor where
his room was located and he
appreciated their service so
much he stopped on his way
home from the hospital and
sent them a flower ar-
rangement. It’s good to
hear that those dedicated
ladies in white, who seldom
get praise or recognition for
their many long hours of
service, are remembered
once in awhile by a patient:
I’m sure Bob’s gesture of
kindness was deeply appre-
ciated.
