STUDY of hands by type, remem-
• ber, is the important first stage
.through which you must progress to
the more complicated meanings of
lines and other elements within the
palm. The outstanding character-
istics of the seven types are treated
individually in these lessons. Memo-
rize them carefully in order that
you may have an accurate gauge
of hands you analyze.
Second. The Square Type of Hand.
The outstanding characteristic of
this type is the squareness of palm
from edge to edge and from the
base of the fingers to the line of
the wrist. The fingers are of me-
dium length, well placed and sym-
metrical, with pronounced square-
ness of shape and very little taper.
The nails are broad, well shaped.
The joints are seldom prominent.
The thumb of the Square Type is
much longer than that of the. Primal
Type, is set much higher on the
hand and stands well out from the
palm. The thumb of this type is
always well shaped, the inner side
of the nail joint sloping back to the
nail edge in a firm but graceful arc.
The palm and undersize portions
of the fingers are moderately
fleshed, but are firm and have none
of the pillowed appearance of the
coarser Primal Type.
Possessors of Square Type hands
are nearly always practical, serious
thinking, dependable folk who get
things done. They may always be
relied upon to finish the task which
requires analysis, a high degree of
concentration and perseverance.
The Square Type hand is found in
every line of endeavor which calls
for balanced character, reflective
foresight and precision of method.
Which accounts, no doubt, for the
predominance of this type among
surgeons, lawyers and scientists.

deed of gift in words as follows:

a tract of 730 acres, known and de-
scribed as survey fifty (50) on the
waters of Howard’s Creek, as is more
fully set forth in a deed from W. E.
Howth to J. Ort, dated November 4,
1890, and recorded in Tom Green Coun-
ty in .Volume Z, page 439, to which
reference is made;
Also, all improvements on the above
described property, and all real estate
and personal property of every de-

I now own or have an interest in.
(The grantor herein, Johann Ort, is
named and designated in some of the
conveyances to him of the aforesaid
property as W. J. Ort, I. Ort, and J.

meant and intended the grantor here-
in, whose correct name is Johann Ort.

The above deed, duly executed and
acknowledged, was by the grantor Jo-

William F. Ort, intending thereby to
give and donate to his son William F.
Ort, grantee in said deed, all of the
property therein described, the recital
of $10.00 paid to grantor by grantee
and other good and valuable consider-

being no money or other thing of value
involved in this transaction, but only

Plaintiff further shows that at the
time said grantor, Johann Ort, who
was also known as W. J. Ort, I. Ort,

‘PHE magician displays a small card-
- board box. He opens it and reveals
two small corks inside. He closes the
box, shakes it and reopens it. The
corks have multiplied. There are four
Instead of two.
The box is prepared beforehand.
Boxes of this type, obtainable at any
drug store, actually consist of two lids,
with a ring or collar between.
In the upper lid the magician glues
two corks. He drops two loose corks
in the lower portion. Thus, in perform-
ing the trick, he begins by showing
only two corks, not revealing those
that are attached to the lid which he
removes.
Closing the box, the magician shakes
it. In so doing he turns over the box.
The lid which he lifts is the original
bottom of the box. Thus the box con-
tains four corks.
