made in the grade of cotton that
is being raised in Texas. If this
cotton is really such a great im-
provement, and no one needs to

grade of cotton you show him,
we hope that a great many farm-
ers will plant some of this cot-
ton next season as it means so
much to the county.

the firebell early Thursday morn-
ing. The fire was discovered by
Mr. Louis Herbort in the E. L.
Schmidt Produce and Grocery
Building. The fire boys respond-
ed at once. The office desk had
burned down and had the build-
ing been frame, there would
probably been a total loss of

Schools opened Monday with an
enrollment of 394 pupils, 95 of
which are in the high school

tax collector. Mr. Schaefer was
born and raised in our county,
for a number of years he was
active as barber in Fredericks-
burg, he is qualified to fill the

Mr. W. E. Thiele has accepted
a position at the Lemon’s Tire
Shop. Until recently Mr. Thiele
was a valued employe of the
