Hon. Edgar E. Witt, President of the
Senate.
Sir: I am directed by the House
to inform the Senate that the House
has passed the following resolutions:
H. C. R. No. 5, Providing for a
joint session of the House and Sen-
ate for the purpose of hearing an
address by Mr. Adam Johnson, Mr.
Win. Strass, and Mr. Lee Heger.
August 29, 1934, at 10:30 a.m.
H. C. R. No. 4, Inviting Mr. Adam
Johnson, Mr. Strauss, and Mr. Heger
to address a joint session of the
House and Senate at such time as
may be convenient to them.

H. C. R. No. 4.
Senator Woodruff called for the
reading of H. C. R. No. 4.
Senator Woodruff sent up an
amendment to H. C. R. No. 4:
Amend H. C. R. No. 4 by adding
next after word "Heger" the follow-
ing:
"the members of the Relief Com-
mission and of the Relief Commit-
tee."
The amendment was adopted.
The resolution as amended was
adopted.
H. C. R. No. 5.
The Chair laid before the Senate
H. C. R. No. 5, which provided for
a joint session of the House and
Senate, for the purpose of hearing
Mr. Adam Johnson and Mr. Strauss
and Mr. Lee Heger.
The resolution was read and
adopted.
At Ease.
The Chair suggested that the Sen-
ate stand at ease until 2 o'clock p. m.
to attend the joint session of the
House and Senate.

keeper, who introduced a messenger
from the Governor with the follow-

Honorable W. S. Fly, deceased.
To be a member of the Board of
Pardons and Paroles:
Honorable Fred S. Rogers of Fan-
nin County, Texas, to fill the unex-
pired term of Frank V. Lanham, re-
signed.
To be a member of the State Board
of Pharmacy:
Honorable M. E. Dooley of Hunt
County, Texas, to fill the unexpired
term of B. C. Allison, resigned.
To be a member of the State Board
of Dental Examiners:
Dr. George S. Bellas of Bexar
County, Texas, to fill the unexpired
term of Dr. L. F. Robichaux, re-
signed.
To be members of the Pink Boll-
worm Commission:
Honorable Claude G. Bond of
Bexar County, Texas.
Honorable J. J. Olsen of Yoakum,
Texas.
Honorable Millard Phillips of Am-
herst, Texas, to serve as a member
of the Pink Bollworm Commission
from the 64th Judicial District.
Honorable Sam Lawhon of Level-
land, Texas, to serve as a member of
the Pink Bollworm Commission from
the 72nd Judicial District.
Honorable Dixie Kilgore of La-
mesa, Texas, to serve as a member
of the Pink Bollworm Commission
from the 106th Judicial District.
To be District Judge of the 79th
Judicial District of Texas:
Honorable L. Broeter of Jim Wells
County, Texas, to fill the unexpired
term of Judge Hood Boone, resigned.
To be District Attorney of the 79th
Judicial District of Texas:
Honorable Frank B. Lloyd of Jim
Wells County, Texas, to fill the un-
expired term of Honorable L. Broe-
ter, resigned.
