first place and best of
show in the construction
wiring exhibit. The team of
Emmanuel Gonzalez, Jimmy
Hernandez, Antonio Mejia
and Giovanni Rocha took
second place in the category
and will also advance to
state. The team of Moises
Flores, Claudio Muniz and
Christopher Carrillo placed
first in the commercial
wiring exhibit. Klarissa
Vaughn took first in the
innovative manufacturing
exhibit.
Larry Johnson placed
first in carpentry and
will compete at state.
Photography student Crystal
Gomez advanced to state
with her photo panel project.
In the cosmetology
contest, six MPHS
students advanced to state
competition. The team of
Angelica Contreras, Karemil
Mount Pleasant High
School reports that 25
MPHS students have
qualified to compete at the
SkillsUSA state competition
in April.
The students qualified for
state at the recent regional
competition in Waco.
Reportedly, 17 electrical
trades students advanced
to state. Isidoro Hernandez
placed first and Mason
Blalock placed second in
construction wiring.
Mount Pleasant swept the
National Electrical Code
Test category with Ramon
Sanchez taking first, Omar
Perez placing second and
Andy Sermeno placing third.
Mount Pleasant will take
four electrical exhibits to
state. The team of Jason
