We cannot recall a season with a more beautiful array of fine dress fabrics than the present one. Although handicapped by lack of dye stuff
and scarcity of raw materials, yet with all the hinderances the weavers and dyers have given us a most exquisite sketch of attractive materials
for the making of "The Dress.”
The standard numbers, Serges and smoothe solids are still in demand and many of the new calls for the soft smoothe looking checks on dark
and medium grounds. Plain and fancy mixtures in fancy Coatings have a zood showing.
Silks are in extreme favor this season, and. the popular Taffetas and Chiffon Taffetas as well as staple and solid colors are on display here
in endless variety.
