ranged informally over topics of interest from the sublime to the humorously
inconsequential. As a commentator of Beaumont fashion shows, Adeline
brought her own good looks, poise, and distinction to the fashion scene
and in her rich, well-modulated voice gave clarity and depth to a spectacular
performance.
She admitted personally to an innate shyness that seems at odds with
a stage-struck actress in the spotlight - and such she was not. The image

Historical Society, and other organizations.
She is survived by two sisters, Eleanor Birdwell of Beaumont and
Margaret Coleman of Houston; a brother, John Knight Salter of Sour Lake;
two nephews, John and Robert Birdwell, and a niece, Mary Margaret
Williford.
