CONTRIBUTORS
Officers of the Society who have prepared reports that update and discuss
their activities are the recording secretary, Gladys Bevil, and those acting
as secretary in her absence, Alexine Howell and Marilyn Adams. These have
presented specific and informative Proceedings that reflect our meetings.
The treasurer, Gordon A. Craig, has acted with promptness and accuracy
in preparing the financial reports and the roster of members, while the
librarian, Mary Anna Anderson, has prepared an annotated bibliography
of the latest acquisitions.
A special accolade is needed to recognize the charming, demanding,
and unselfish service rendered to the Society by the chairman of the Social
Committee, Patricia Adams Burnett, and her committee members. The
sociability that prevails among our members at the last of each meeting is
enjoyed in the grouping around a beautiful refreshments table prepared by
Patricia Adams.
The Editor has, as usual, assumed responsibility for the assignment of
the articles, acceptance of the papers, and editing of the journal. Her duty,
also, has included the writing of the memorials - if not by herself, then
by others who were invited to write and whose names are acknowledged
in the essay. Gratitude is expressed for the help so graciously given by the
families and close friends of our deceased members in providing pictures
and biographical data, without which the memorials could not be written.
The associate editors, Dr. Paul Isaac, Martha Orgain, Ellen Rienstra,
and Judith Linsley, have been helpful whenever called upon, either for
advice or hard work.
Acknowledgment is given Mrs. Wesley Norton and the Nederland
Printing and Office Supply for the high quality of their technical services,
in typing and in publication, respectively. To both we extend appreciation
for their many helpful courtesies.
