Dallas, July 21.— Thousands
of dollars of damage was caus-
ed at the Texas - Centennial
exposition late Monday night
when a 55-mile-an-hour gale
struck the •325,000,000 world’s
fair.
The set for “Cavalcade of
Texas," the huge spectacle de-
picting 400 years of Texas
history, was completely wreck-
ed.
R. T. Boose, manager of the
Centennial cafe, said that
damage to the cafe amounted
to between $7,000 and $10,-
000 when the front blew in.
Everything movable on the
grounds was torn loose, he said.
There was a minor panic
when the wind and heavy rain
struck the fair grounds, and
several persons fainted - and
were taken to the emergency
