Mark your calendars and dust off
your dancing shoes. The SouthTexas
Spring Banquet promises to be an
occasion ofepteproportions.TheSprmg
Banquet is the culmination of the
year's activities and the premier so-
cial event at STCL. STCL students,
faculty and many pillars of the legal
community will gather at the Inter-
con tinen tal-M arrio tt B allroom for the
stated purpose of honoring the year's
achievements.
The Banquet, known in darker
circles as the Prom, begins at 7:00
p.m. with cocktails in the Navarro
Room. Dinner will be served in the
Ballroom at 8:00p.m. Following the
dinner is an awards presentation which
should last approximately 45 min-
utes. At 10:00 p.m. the real partying
begins with live music.
This year's band has not been
formally booked. The two candidates
are Ezra Charles & the Works and
Jimmy & the Thin Men. Ezra Charles
is an excellent dance and show band
andhighlyrenowned in Houston, rimmy
& the Thin Men were recently formed
by Jimmy (formally lead singer/gui-
tarist of the Dishes) and have the
music critics buzzing. Either band
will deliver an excellent exhibition of
talent and showmanship which should
not be missed.
The purchase of a ten ($ 10) dollar
ticket includes dinner and two com-
plimentary drink tickets. Keg beer is
free. Additional cocktails are avail-
able on a cash basis.
So come out and party on Satur-
day. March 11,1989.
