Mrs. H. H. Sevier, state president
of the Daughters of the Republic of
Texas, presided this morning at an
executive session in the Texas
museum, when several matters of
importance to the organization were
passed upon. At the annual meet-
ing held recently in Houston it was
voted to have the Texas museum
kept open every day at stated hours,
for the benefit of those who wish to

Jones, 60, landowner, and his ten-
ant. A. J. Miller, 65, are both in a
serious condition from wounds sus-
tained late/Sunday in a duel on the
farm that Jones owns- and Miller
was a tenant.
Joneg used a shotgun-an is sai
to have shot Miller in the right knots
at close range.
Miller used an automatic .32 cali-
ber pistol and Jones 1s shot through
the chest and left leg.

lowed a quarrel that started two
weeks ago. Both men have famni-
