Walter G.
Ennis Smitey, oil field work-
er residing in Gilmer, was
arrested Saturday night charg-
ed with the theft of Mr. P. K.
Williams’ 1933 Chevrolet se-
dan.
Mr. Williams had parked his
car in front of B. L. Lee’
lumber office on the north
highway, and gone inside to
see Mr. Lee. Coming out less
than half an hour later, the
car was found to be missing.
Officers were notified, and
less than an hour later, or at
about ten o’clock Saturday
night, Gladewater officers re-
covered the car and arrested
Smitey.
Smitey was lodged in the
Gladewater jail. He is said to
have been the worse for drink
at the time of his arrest.
