A. S. Ross of Blanco is spending

good road movement going on in his
'section, he said that Blanco, Gillespie
and other counties will ere long have
ample good roads.
Referring to the Austin-Fredericks-
burg highway Mr. Ross recalled that
Gillespie, Blanco and Hays counties
had voted bonds for road improvement,
whereas Travis has not yet done so.
"If we build our road to your line,’ he
said, "I can not see wherein Travis
County or Austin will be benefited. The
road will be leading away from in-
stead of in the direction of Austin. I
understand there are other similar
roads that would pass through Travis
if a bond issue is floated; however,
that is not, or should not be any con-
cern of mine, as I live in another
county.”

The regular annual meeting of the
Woman’s Auxiliary of the Baptist
churches of this city was held Tuesday.
There was a good attendance of mem-
bers as well as of visitors at Decker,
where the meeing was held. The many

When Judge James R. Hamilton
calls the divorce docket of the Crim
Inn 1 District Court on October 5, he
will be confronted by a, list of over 100
suits according to indications revealed
by the records of District Clerk Axel
Philquist. At noon Wednesday, Sep-
tember 15, With the calling of the di-
vorce docket approximately threg
weeks off, ninety-six divorce suits hae
been filed. Of this total nine cases
were filed late Tuesday afternoon and
early Wednesday morning.
Inspection of the records in the dis-
trict clerk’s office shows that in a ma-
jority of the divorce cases the legal:
separation is sought by the complain-
ing husband or wife on the charge of
the other’s infidelity. In a number of
cases brutality is alleged against the
husband, while . In one Instance the
husband complains of brutality on the
part of the wife. A large number of
divorcee in the list are being sought
on the grounds at desertion.
On all sides one hears remarks in-
dicating that the campaign now on in
the interest of securing "goodies,"
which are also practical things, for
the table at the Altenheim Home, Girls’
Settlement Club and the Chilren's
— Business men. students, women,
fanners and visitors from other cities
