In the event of election he said he
would give his undivided support to
President Wilson’s preparedness plan.
He said he has already received many
assurances of support from various
portions of the state. Senator Darwin,
who is taking a leading part in the
Elks students’ loan fund movement,
said that he has found the Elks over
the state enthusiastic over the plan,
which is to create a fund to loan to
deserving students attending the Uni-

college. The plan is to raise a fund of
about $25,000.

Pure Food Commissioner Hoffman has

to be nothing but sugar and milk. The
persons -charged with having these so-
