Sunday and Monday, April 11
Last Sunday night the bank
at Cat Spring was broken into,
and an attempted robbery
made. The building was dam-
aged by the nitro glycerine
used in the attempted opening
of the vault, but evidently the
thieves were frightened away
as the vault was not opened.
The robbers only got $5.00 in
pennies for their trouble, and
we understand the officers are
working on the case but as yet
have no clues. -
In Sealy on the same night
several box cars on the Santa
Fe tracks were broken into,
the thieves finally coming to a
car of flour, which they opened
and stole about half the load. It
is thought the flour was hauled
off in a truck, but no clue as
to the thieves has yet been
found so we understand.
If you notice suspicious char-
acters in your neighborhood no-
tify the officers. If the parties

has been appointed an assistant-

was a graduate of Texas A. &
