Texas Chemurgic
Council to Meet
In Corpus Christi
The annual meeting of the
Texas Chemurgic Council will be
held in Corpus Christi on April
2 and 3, it was announced here
today by Elmore R. Torn, exe-
cutive vice-president of the Council
Noted business and industrial
leaders will appear on the pro-
gram as well as technical ex-
perts in specialized fields. Sub-
jects to be covered include the
chemurgic uses of grain sorghums,

overlooked chemurgic crops.
President Victor H. Schoffel-
mayer, Dallas, named the follow-
ing committee chairmen: E. B.
Neiswanger, vice-president of Cen-
tral Power & Light Co., Corpus
Christi, chairmen on general ar-
rangements; Dr. E. N. Jones, presi-
dent of A & I College, Kings-
ville, chairman of invitations com-
mittee; and H. W. Rahn of South-
ern Alkali Co., Corpus Christi,
chairman of exhibits.
The membership-business meet-
ing will be held the second day
of the state-wide conference..

No official information is avail-
2 able regarding operations at Amon
Carter No. 1 Carter fee, deep
wildcat in Central Winkler
County, approximately six miles
southeast of Kermit.
Unconfirmed reports indicate
that it had reached 11,376 feet in
a sand section which may be the
Simpson zone of the middle Ordo-
vician.
There is no verification of
rumors in some quarters that
this venture had recently run a
drillstem test and shown some
slight signs of oil.
Operator is withholding all per-
tinent information on this wild-
cat It is located 660 feet from
south and east lines of section
24, block B-6, psl survey.
In Central Winkler County,
about four miles southeast of Ker-
mit, Stanolind Oil & Gas Com-
pany No. 2 Campbell, 1,980 feet
from south and 1,986 feet from
west lines of section 13, block B-5,
psl survey, has penetrated below
9,057 feet in shale and is con-
tinuing.
Magnolia Petroleum Company
No. 1 Wheeler, Central-East Wink-
ler County exploration, about 12
miles southeast of Kermit, 660
feet from south and east lines of
section 13, block 40, psl survey,
is at a plugged back depth of
. .8,986 feet. It has proven to be
J a petroleum failure and is now
plugged and abandoned.
About four and one-half miles
southeast of the nearest Ellen-
burger production on the south-
east side of the Keystone field
in Central Winkler County, Gulf
Oil Corporation No. 125-E Key-
stone, approximately eight miles
east and slightly north of Kermit,
and 1,980 feet from south and
east lines of section 29, block B-2,
psl survey, is boring lime below
4,390 feet and going deeper.
Ohio Oil Company has staked
the location for an outpost to
their No. 1 W. F. Scarborough j
estate, recent discovery, in ex-
treme North Winkler. It will be
No. 2 W. F. Scarborough estate,
1,670 feet from west and 330 feet
from north lines of section 3, block
C-22, psl survey, and about 10
miles north of Kermit. Rotary
tools will be used to drill to about
3,500 feet to test the Seven Rivers
section of the upper Permian.

Walton has been made by Richard-
son & Bass, to be 1,980 feet from
north and 660 feet from east lines
