Dear Uncle Ike:
I was sorry to hear that your trade
for the Prudential Hotel fell through but maybe the
deal that Mr. Patton works up for you will be just
as good.
R. W. Patton is a reputable realestate
agent here, former President of the San Antonio Real
Estate Board, and a man of good standing in the commun-
ity. This, of course, is no indication about all of
the people whom he represents but, as an agent, he
stands well.
The other question you asked about
some one from here going down to Sugarland to draw
plans for a general community center there, is not an
easy one to answer. I assume it is an architect who
has had experience in community centers that you have
in mind. There are several such architects here and
the ones who come to mind first, as being experienced
in this type of work, are Mr. Robert Ayres in the Transit
Tower, and Air. N. Straus Nayfach in the Alamo National
Building.
The only trouble is, however, that these
men are both loaded down with work and I am afraid would
charge a pretty good price even for such a general plan
as you would want. The time and distance being shorter,
I am of the opinion that it would be less expensive for
you to get an architect from Houston or Galveston to
look over the situation for you.
All of us here send Christmas Greetings,
best New Year's wishes, and love to all of you.
Sincerely o/u rs,
