receive some much needed moisture. Congratulations! We also had
some rain but not as much that fell in your area. The temps here have
been reaching up into the 90's and it is not just warm but hot. I think
this heat must have affected my husband on Friday for he called and
said a small beautiful blue-eyed kitten had jumped into his pick-up
and he was bringing her home to me. My first thought was great that
is all I need something with more hair to tend to and sweep up after,
but when he brought her in she was beautiful and took up residence
in the laundry room taking over the clothes basket as her own. She
went right away to a cat litter I set up for her and then right after start-
ed eating in a bowl like she had been bom here. So we have a new
free boarder.
THOUGHT FOR THIS WEEK:
The Grasshopper - If it could talk your language, could tell
you the meaning of pleasure; the plodding ant could define only con-
tentment. When the sun is high in the heavens, when breezes are
warm and gentle, when fields are embroidered with colored wild

watches the ant ceaselessly toiling.
But summer quickly passes and snow falls where flowers
and grasses made life sweet for the grasshopper. Then a home is
appreciated, but the happy-go-lucky grasshopper hasn't any.
The human drifter is likely to confuse pleasure with happi-
ness and experience the grasshopper's fate. For without responsibili-
ty no life is complete. There is a longing in every one of us that can
find satisfaction only is service.
So what are you...the grasshopper or the ant? Drifting along
living off America's good life, like the grasshopper or like the ant tak-
ing responsibility for your own and making a way to be called a
proud American!
I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for reading!

Liew LUI -------- So many people take our country for granted. What this
country has to offer is awesome. In America, we have more rights,
freedom and opportunity than any place else. Many people focus on g
what is wrong than what is right with our great Nation that we call 1
America. It may not be perfect, but is the best place to live believe
me. Go to other countries and observed their way of life and you will
agree that this America we call home is the very best place to live.
We talk about freedom but freedom has a price and it is not
free. Talk to any Veteran and they will let you know what has gone
on in the last 100 years to assure you young ones of your freedom.
The well being of America is our responsibility. We must be
a participant in this democracy to make it work. If we feel something
is wrong, don't just complain, but find a better way. Our government
was never intended to take care of us but we must take care of our
government.
We have the obligation to vote. Hundreds of thousands have
given their lives to ensure our ability to live free and give us the right
to vote.
