Dies at Nacogdoches
Mrs. E. M. Stephens, mother
of Mrs. George H. Love, of 106 S.
Waddill Street, McKinney, died
at 2:50 a.m. Friday at her home,
2311 S. Fredonia Street, Nacog-
doches. Funeral services were
held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Nac-
ogdoches, directed by Cason
Monk Funeral Home.

Biggest Tire in U. S.
Weighs Two Tons
AKRON, Ohio—A two-ton tire
that stands 10 feet high and four
feet wide and sells for $14,000 is
described as the biggest in the
world.
It contains enough rubber to
produce 3200 passenger car tires
and enough nylon cord for 7,000
pairs of ladies’ stockings.
Built by the Goodyear Tire &
Rubber Co. here, the tire is a re-
search model for a planned line
of earthmover, special-purpose
tires for huge construction ma-
chines, and other vehicles still in
designates.
Vehicles equipped with the
new tires at 32-ply rating will
be able to carry more than 30
tons at 30 miles an hour with 35
pounds of air pressure.

Lt. W. C. Malone
Leaves for Korea
l-Lt. W. C. Malone has been
visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Horace Malone. He left to go to
Korea June 15. His family is liv-
ing in Albany, Georgia. Lt. Ma-
lone is a guided missile launch
officer. He received his commis-
sion as a second lieutenant in the
United States Air Force March
10, 1956, at Lackland Air Force
Base, San Antonio, Lt. Malone
entered the Air Force in Janu-
ary 1948, completed air force
technical school, then to air
command until his assignment
to officer candidate school. He
served a temporary duty tour
with the strategic air command
in England, North Africa and
Japan. Lt. Malone is a 1947 grad-
uate of Prosper High School.
■He is the brother of Rex and
Wallace Malone and of Mrs. Jack
Dowell.

Five Generations

In Dalton Family
Mrs. Sam Dalton of Frisco, Rt.
1, sends some interesting infor-
mation relative to Mrs. E. A.
Dalton and the late Mr. Dalton
who celebrated their sixty-
fourth wedding anniversary last
Christmas Day, December 25,
1958. Mr. Dalton passed to his
reward on April 3, 1959.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Dalton
came to Texas from Morristown,
Tennessee. They were married
on December 25, 1894, at the Cross
Road School house near Fon-
cine. Rev. Paul White was the
officiating minister.
The couple has 31 grandchil-
dren, 68 great-grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren.
Little Eric Cain, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Tommie Cain, is a fifth gen-
eration grandchild.
The Dalton’s sixty-fourth anni-
versary was observed with open
house at the home of their daugh-
ter, Mrs. L. R. Backus, and Mr.
Backus near Leonard.

then a swim suit.
Points on which the girls will
be judged include: figure 25,
face 25, posture 10, grace 5,
charm 15, grooming 10, past
achievements 5, talent or domes-
tic ability 5.
The winner will receive the
1959 Trophy along with $75 in
cash, and will be eligible to en-
ter the state contest. Each con-
testant will receive a gift.
