security and proection that could be so easily offered

I reassurance than any words could offer.
I Such a dependence upon parental protection doesn’t last
forever. Children quickly outgrow the need for daddy's
hand. But they never will outgrow their need for the nail-scarred
hand. Above all else, it brings security, love and understanding.
It alone brings salvation and total peace of mind. Eventually,
we all outgrow the need to say, "Daddy, Hold My Hand." But no
one ever reaches the point in life where they do not need to say,
