Friday, April 24, is to witness
/ another gala event in the lives of
J members of the livestock industry,
young and old, male and female,
for that is the date of the annual
4-H-FFA Fat Stock Show and Auc-
tion sale, sponsored by the Cham-
ber of Commerce.
Activities will get under way at i
• 10 a. m. down at the County Fair
grounds and boys from all parts of
the county will have their choice
beef calves on exhibit, according to

Along with the junior livestock
men will be their teachers, spon-
sors, parente, fellow club members
and well-wishers to attend the
show, an event looked forward to
each year with much anticipation.
Quality Brings Rewards
The boys will compete for ribbons
that are offered as prizes and for
the exultation that goes with win-
ning over their fellows. Further-
more, they will be in line to partici-
pate in the rich financial rewards
when their animals are sold at pub-
lic auction Friday afternoon, dur-
ing the sale which concludes activi-
ties for the day.
Gainesville business men, as was
the custom last year, have agreed
in goodly numbers to be present
and bid on the calves, thus insur-

prices well above the market. Last
year, for instance, handsome prices
were paid for some of the choicest
calves and all that were offered
for sale, brought profitable returns
to the boys for the time they had
